I hope your first weekend in January was productive and blissful as mine! I got alot accomplished and had a bit of fun! I've been working on line #9 and I just sent it over for review. I did a little bit of stitching on my Winter Sampler, and awaiting my Woodland Sampler supplies to come so I can anxiously start on that. There is something about cross stitching that is sooo relaxing!
I made this yummy Creamy Lasagna off of Pinterest! Can I say it was amazing, and paired with a yummy salad what's better than that? You can snag the recipe here!
I also did a little bit of sewing with my #scrappytripalong instagram friends! This is taking over the social networking realm right now! You should totally join in the fun. I finished one using a Jelly Roll from Moda (Reunion by Sweetwater) and I thought I had to buy another one, but I found a layer cake I had. And guess what.. it's working out to be the perfect size quilt. I haven't completed all my blocks yet, but cutting the layer cakes I was able to get 4 sets cuts out of each 10x10 squares. Then once I cut the tubes, I have 3 per strip block with a 2.25" left over for a scrappy block for the back of the quilt. You will need to make two identical to complete one block! Just a Bit Frayed and I'm a Ginger Monkey a.ka. Katy, started this whole trend of the #scrappyquiltalong. You can find it on instagram, flickr, and twitter!
I have several strips that need to be ironed tubed and cut, so I can complete my blocks and quilt top.
You can find the tutorial here on Quiltville! Most everyone is doing 2.5" strips, but you can totally customize with just a little bit of math to do any size of quilt you want. You can read about it here!
What did you do this weekend?
XOXO
